When one door is closed then you have to hold on faith that
another door will open. This is the story of how 168 passengers who doesn’t know
each other but came together through social media and flew back to their home
country.

Due to COVID pandemics, Countries
around the world are implementing measures to slow down the spread from nation
lockdown to school and home quarantine. With a staggering business, many people
lost their jobs.  Full or partial city lockdown brings demand in key
markets to stand still. As the economy becomes slow, unemployment increases.
Due to this many who stay for long with there's family, decide to come back to
there's own country as there is no support and it became a precarious
existence. It said that around 10% of Indian- UAE expats register to return
home. It is an arduous task to maintain a life without wages for months.

In the meantime, India stops international flights. Nobody
had any idea till what time the lockdown will be. With anxious and depression a
single day seems to be like a year passing by.  Later on Govt of India
Started Vande Bharat’s mission to rescue the stranded Indians throughout the
world. But there was limited flight against our huge population. As many people
eagerly waiting for the call for VBM, but not received and lost hope. At last,
they started to contact each other on social media.  From them, a few
people took the initiative as (Admin) and form a group and executed the whole
plan in a periodical manner. They started to contact more people through
social media and started to form a WhatsApp group. The whole process is like a
roller coaster journey. Govt not giving approval, people are moving back, so
the cost per person was increased, later Govt gave approval but getting the
slot for flight became difficult. When we got the slot we didn’t get the
approval and when we get the approval we didn’t get the slot, at last finally
both we made on 28th June then also at the last minute the flight got delayed
for seven hours. There are numerous hurdles that we faced each day and the end
of the day spent by praying and hope to get back safely. 

Finally, the day has arrived when we got the confirmation of
the flight but still disbelieved and thought it was a dream. But that dream
came true and we reached safely to our home town.

At last, even the flight ticket cost was little less than VBM
flights.

The whole process was successful just because of Mr. Gautam
Banka, Mr. Sudip Kumar Saha, Mr. Rajiv Nathani, Mr. Tushar Majumdar, Mr. Joy
Debnath and a few more. We will be always grateful to them.

Bengali actor cum politician Mr.Dev Adhikari also accelerates
the Govt approval for the charter flight. We are also grateful for his support.
