It is very difficult to travel with the baby during this Corona pandemic. It is advisable to avoid the leisure trip at this time. But there are certain unavoidable circumstances when we have to travel with our kids. In fact, I too had the situation when I had to travel with my kid. So, I just followed some precautionary measures which helped me to reach the destination safely with my kiddos.

Remember that in the airport before any international departure, each child above two years of age has to undergo COVID rapid test.

10 IMPORTANT TIPS FOR TRAVELING WITH A BABY DURING COVID - 19

  1. Use the surgical masks for the baby. You can cut and adjust the mask ribbon as per the baby’s face size or even make an extra fold with the ribbon to fit the mask properly.

  2. Use gloves to protect the baby's hands. Keep hand sanitizer and surface sanitizer in your hand luggage.

  3. Keep a number of masks and gloves with you. Once you remove the masks and gloves, don't use the same again. You need to use a new one.

  4. Every time wash your hand and apply sanitizer before changing the diaper for the baby.

  5. Apply surface sanitizer before your baby sits on that place.

  6. Avoid cleaning milk bottle and sterilising at the airport, carry an extra sterilised bottle with you to prepare the fresh milk.

  7. Carry homemade food and a small water bottle for the kids. Avoid buying food for kids from outside cafeterias.

  8. Feed your baby before taking them out of the home. Drink a lot of water to keep your body hydrated.

  9. Keep 6 feet distance with other people while walking or standing in a queue.

  10. Avoid using the toilet in flight, so before the departure take your child to the washroom or change their diaper. So, at least the next 3 to 4 hours, you may not need to use the toilet.
